Hello! I'm Chris and I love bread, but have avoided it for some time because it gives me terrible heartburn. While on a work trip to Italy, I ate whatever I wanted (including bread) and had zero issues. So, when I got back to the U.S. I decided to look into why I had issues with American bread. As it turns out, a lot of what you can readily buy in the grocery store is not even legally allowed to be called "bread" in some other countries.
As an Engineer, I often dive too deeply into learning about things and bread was no different. Sourdough bread relies on Lactic and Acetic acids to ferment the wheat flour, reducing phytic acid and making the bread easier to digest with less acid reflux, heartburn, or other gastro-intestinal issues.
I did not expect to enjoy making bread, but I really do and I want to share it with others in the community. I hope you love it!
Sourdough is made with only 3 ingredients; Flour, Water, and Salt.
I only use organic unbleached all-purpose flour, filtered water, and natural sea salt to make my bread.
Plain sourdough is certainly delicious enough on its own merit. You can also add ingredients to the dough before baking, these are known as inclusions. Common inclusions are Cheddar Cheese, Jalapeños, Herbs, Garlic, Oils, and Butter.
I regularly make 3 loaves: Plain, Italian, and Cheddar/Jalapeño.
I do enjoy experimenting and trying new flavors and inclusions, so if you have an idea or request please feel free to ask.
Orders will be taken and paid for through this website. Please refer to the facebook page for date/time/location information for drop-off.
I still work full-time as an Engineer and bake on the side as a hobby. With this in mind, I only have the capacity for around 10 loaves per week. Orders will be collected on a weekly basis and I will coordinate a pickup location for all customers to receive their paid-in-full orders.
If there are no loaves visible to purchase below, I have too many orders and can not take anymore at this time. Please, do not order inclusions if bread is out of stock. I apologize for any inconveniences, and do ask that you check again next week or reach out to me directly. Thank you for understanding.
FYI- The images of the baked goods below are NOT stock images! Order yours today!
I look forward to hearing from you.
